Melur Dayarappan is the son of Lord Vishnu who was born to the
Melur virgin in the Melur fort. This theyyam is a close friend
of a hunting son(വേട്ടക്കൊരുമകൻ). The other theyyams are in homage
This theyyam is addressed as Aishwarya Prabhu. It is said that a son of a hunter walks
and rules and a son sits and rules. The Nairs call a hunter's son Abhimanya Prabhu.
The villagers also piously call the god Urpazhassi, who is neither Ramavatara nor
Matsyavatara, Devathar. This theyyam is built by the Vannan community.
